Is That Your Dog?

October 26, 2026

Recently I had a booth at a market in The Colony. Next to the dog treats on my table sat a framed photo of Harley, my black lab. People kept stopping to look at him.

“Is that your dog?”

He is my dog. Harley passed away two years ago, but he’s still with me. Here’s how I know.

Harley came to us at six months old. He was a pup on his way to the pound when he found us, and he grew into the joyful, loyal heartbeat of our home. I have always believed that dogs find you, if you open your heart.

Black dog with a green collar rests on a stone surface, gazing attentively. The image captures a calm, relaxed moment, highlighting the dog's expression.

When he passed, I wondered if I should get another dog. There are so many dogs who need rescuing, just like Harley did. But I kept thinking about the people who already say yes to those dogs. The ones who rescue and foster. The ones with three or four dogs because they had the room and the big heart.

So I made a different kind of choice. I started a business built around dogs, with a mission to support the people who take them in.

That’s UrbanTail Cleanup. We price by the visit, with no contracts, and we never charge extra because your crew is bigger or busier than most. When a home needs more, we add visits during the week. We work with each dog parent on what they need and how we can help.

For those who bring home a foster dog or adopt a new family member, we offer two free cleanups to help take some of the work off your list.

Every yard we clean belongs to someone who opened their heart to a dog. Every foster home, every rescue, every house with more dogs than anyone planned on. That’s where Harley shows up for me now.

So yes. That’s my dog. He’s still finding people.
